Finding my other part

It’s my five hundred and fourth time walking through this dark and dreary hallway with people running everywhere, talking and laughing near the wall. Well, the first time, it was so annoying, now I’m used to it. My mind kept on reminding me of what my parents said before I transferred and left them behind. “We know you can do it, just trust yourself, feel it with your own heart, we will be waiting for you two.” As I left my parents behind and entered a new and unidentified world I kept on thinking, am I the right person to find her? Isn’t it that she left because of me? Why do I have to live in a disguise too?

“Hey! Trivina, you’re always just in time. Do you know whom this belongs to?” I wonder who is speaking. Oh, I remember, she always sits beside me in the class since she first entered this school like she is assigned to. Her hair is straight black, and I really love it. She’s just one centimeter taller than me but she is as skinny as I am. I used to have the same beautiful hair as her, but mine was blonde and her familiar smell, I think I’ve smelled it a thousand times before. She points at the end hallway towards a big crowd of people surrounding a very nice, expensive, white, bag with a CS symbol on the right side complete with its expensive, cute colorful key chain. I’m terribly shocked! I stand completely still like a rock, not moving, it might be the fake one. But it really looks like mine, why are my look-alike-old-things always showing up here since Sophia entered? I thought I’d left everything behind and now I don’t have anything, not even myself.

“Trivina, are you okay?” Sophia asked, acting, as if she was trying to confirm something. My face almost melted because I’m so afraid they’ll find out about my true identity. I almost display my worried expression on my face. But, thankfully I was properly in control of myself; I am too expert at these things. I know she was just acting so that she can confirm who am I really was and will ask me to go back, but why Sophia instead of Mercy herself?

I slowly changed my expression into a very exited person so she wouldn’t noticed me “Oh my! That extra ordinary bag is so cute. Hope I could touch them. Ah! Maybe I could try wearing them. It might be cool.”

“There is no way you could wear them. Even to touch them, I won’t let you do it. Look! There is an initial of ‘CS’ on it. I think, this is belongs to Chloe Scarlett, that famous girl. I’ve seen her wearing it in her photos with her twins, Mercy Scarlett several time, it’s her favorite bag!” Said a girl standing beside me in the crowd. Those words go though my body and reach my heart.

My smiles are fading. “Well… Okay, I know…” I know in this situation, I can’t touch my things or even hug my own twin. I feel so sorry to mess with you, please come and get me; I just want you to accept my apology. Drop comes out from my eyes, one-drop, two drops, three drops, and it becomes rain. I cover my face, hopping nobody noticed my tears but my sound makes all eyes turn towards me. The girl beside me felt sorry for what she has said to me. She walked through the grassy ground to reach for the bag and gave it to me. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean what I had said before. Here, you go.”

At the same time, a small and smooth texture of hand reach me, I feel like home is here, right beside me. A familiar hug follows. It is so warm that my heartbeat slows down. A second later I chill myself. I open my hand while lifting my head “Mercy, is that you? If yes, I’m so sorry for messing around with you, I’m so sorry for almost destroying your project that you had spent 5 nights 6 days working on it. I’m going to help you but you need to accept my apology.”

A big smile and laugh spread across Sophia’s face “Hahaha! How long do you think these problems have to go? My project has done. I’ve even submitted it before I transferred to this school. You sure are so sensitive aren’t you? You silly little Chloe, I won’t want you to sneak out. Well, I’m so sorry for letting you sneak out. Mother and father are very scared, I’m so glad that you’re okay, let’s go home.”

That girl before, dropped the bag and shouted “Ahhh!!! Chloe!! I’ve made you cry. I’m so sorry…” I laughed, “Ahahah that’s okay, I’m glad you said those words, thank you.”

War Horse Film Review

‘War Horse’ is a film about friendship in the era of World War I. Directed by Steven Spielberg who won the Academy Award for Best Director for Schindler’s List (1993) and Saving Private Ryan (1998). It’s taken from a novel called War Horse written by Michael Morpurgo. The cast includes Peter Mullan as Ted Narracott, Albert Narracott’s father who likes to drink and gets drunk. Jeremy Irvine as Albert Narracott, who is very stubborn as his father. He is the one who takes care of Joey and have a very close relationship as an iron glue that’s hard to be remove with anybody between him and Joey. Joey is a horse, he symbolized bravery in this film, and he helps his friend, even though it could cost his live.

The story begins when Ted Narracott buys a foal, Joey. They don’t have money except Joey. Albert promises to his father that he would train Joey in just 1 month so that they could plough the rocky field and make money. People say that it is impossible but hey keep trying, work together and believe each other. Until one day, Ted Narracott loose hopes and sells Joey to Captain Nicholls to join the war. Albert can’t do anything and makes a promise with Joey that they will meet again. Captain Nicholls told Albert that he would take care of Joey.

The costumes have successfully makes me think that we’re really in 1914-1918. Joanna Johnston is the one who designs the costume. She has won a lot of awards such as from Who Framed Roger (1988), Saving Private Ryan (1998) and others. She and the director mostly work together. The music is absolutely cool that it can tell us about what expressions we need to express. John Williams is the music composer. He has won so many awards such as Academy Awards for Original Music Score, Saturn Award for Best Music and 20 more awards. By the music that he composed, it makes the movie feels alive. All elements in this movie support each other that make the movie looks real.

This film is worth watching. It consists of meaningful friendship binds and also has many good quotes. It’s good to know the situation was back then in the era of WWI. Besides enjoying movies, it also can add your history knowledge. There are many meanings and advices as well. By watching this movie, we can know how people in different perspective feel in those eras. I’m sure that you may be touch mostly by their words. Be curious and watch War Horse now!

School Uniform (PROs and CONs)

As a student in a school, they’re supposed to use a uniform, but some of them aren’t agreeing, let’s see their Pros and Cons.

When we don’t use uniform to school, we can express ourselves by using different kinds of shirt every morning. Of course following what the rulebook says especially about the clothing and also accessories. But each rule inside the rulebook has to be specific so that there will be only one meaning in each rule. And when they broke them, there must be a consequence. 

We can express our feelings and our characteristics that'll be more colorful. We’re going to feel so comfort because it’s our own decision to what should we put on. If we should wear uniform, that means, we need to buy the uniform from the school and the cost are quite high. More clothes that we need to wash if we use uniform. Besides that, the people that don’t go to school won’t be jealous as well because the others can go to school while they can’t. To create school identity, we can use accessories such as cap, jacket bracelet, or anything.

In one school, there are poor and wealthy student. If we don’t use uniform, jealousy between one student to another student will come up. The one who can’t afford to buy new good-looking clothes will loss their confidence also concentration. It also can be the cause of bullying and teasing as well. Without uniform, as one school, we won’t have school identity. A school identity have to be big so that it'll be easy to be seen, if we use jacket as school identity, would you bother to use them the whole day even though it's in a hot weather? If we can express as what we want, there are person that would wear inappropriate clothes such as short pants, tank top, short skirt, and others. 

Even though there’s rulebook, but there are so many different kinds of person. There’s the one who could be creative and there’s one who doesn’t care if there would be a consequence or not. As one family of one school, we seems to be unequal if we doesn't use uniform.

What I’ve learnt about blogging

In blogging, I’ve learnt a lot about what attitudes shall we give, and things that we can’t post as well. Like the other stuff “safety is number one” if we wrote something in online and share it to the world, it may cause ourselves in danger. Have you ever hear about an Indonesian poetry that is missing? It’s probably because of his poem that makes someone hate it. So, before we post or share it on online, we need to think about it again.

To make someone wont mess up with our reality life, make sure you won’t put your phone numbers, email, address, or something like that. There are more than 1001 kind of person in this world. If a naughty person threatened us, isn’t it going to be a nightmare? So, be careful in your every single word. You know? Words that you use has your image as well. If you post something that’s make another person don’t like it, your blog reputation may be worst but if there’s person that you know and they know about it, it may be more worst.

There are things that you have to maintain so that your blogs could be attractive. It’s good to put some pictures and good templates. So that when a person read your blog, they will be more interested and have energy to read your post. Be attractive in every perspective! Just try your best, and express your ideas!

How can we use blogs to explore new ideas, opinions and interact with the world around us?

Inside a blog, we can see the blogger’s context and learn about it. By reading, we know how others are feeling, others experience that we also could learn through their experience and also what's happening around this world that we're living in. By blogs, you can find almost all of the things. Videos, pictures, tips, information, trends and others.

If we’re the blogger, we post something that we want to share or express to the world such as our ideas, opinion, or feelings about an argument in some case that you can’t tell directly to a certain someone. When someone read our post and see the context, and they probably agreed or want to deliver their ideas, we can make an intersection with the commenters.

We use blog to deliver massages. Even though I know the theories, it's hard to make the action.  

Argumentative essay and debate reflection

In this 2nd unit, I’ve learnt about how to write an argumentative essay and also participate in debate as our unit score. My final score isn't that good but thankfully, I still pass.

For my Argumentative essays, I got those score because I'm not being careful enough while I was writing it and not recheck it again. Besides that, my paragraph aren't justify even though it's supposed to be justify. And I still need to improve my language structure because it's hard for others to understand what I mean.

In debate, I think I need to be more confident and research more into the materials that I needed to debate about. I consider not only the bad things, now that I've understand how to make a good format for argumentative essay and to speak in front of the class, I think my confidence are increasing little by little. Thanks to this experience, I knew my strength and weaknesses, also I can fix the things that I need to improve. 

Who Is Responsible?

There are many kinds of accident have happened this year in Indonesia. And last time, a 13 year-old boy who drove a car on the toll road in high speed crashed another car in the opposite road killed 7 persons. I believe that the boy has to responsible for the accident because he should have known right from wrong. Besides that, if you do something, it becomes your own business. You have to take the responsibility. Other shouldn’t replace you.

The father didn’t pay more attention to his own child. It’s believed that as a parent, the father has to pay attention to his own child. However, when the father is too busy until he forgets about his own child. It’s the perfect opportunity for the boy to sneaks out from his father’s side. The boy must’ve known that sneaking out is not good, and he still do it without thinking what would happen if he sneak, took and drive the car. He has to be responsible for the wrong action that he has taken.

The boy’s father gives his child a car. It’s believed that it’s the wrong way for a father to give his child a car in that kind of age. However, the son was given a driver, why he didn’t ask his driver to drive at the first place. People often say that a 13 year-old child has known about right or wrong, so he must have known that he’s not been allowed yet to drive the car by himself. Some other people say that even at their 13 year-old or even a little younger than 13, they have already known that the thing is wrong and they aren’t supposed to do it.

            Many people say that the parents of the boy have to responsible for this accident. I know about it and I understand. However, it’s not all about the parents’ fault, because as a child, he also has to keep and manage their parents’ trust and goodness. Even though their parents have bad attitude or behavior, he still has to make his family and others proud of his kindness and goodness.

           

            So, because the one who drove the car is the boy, my opinion says that the boy has to be responsible of his own action. Because he is the only one who can make himself do something, why at the first time he didn’t think about it.

Slip and Trip Report

To the chief of police, 

An accident occurred at the Volupides’ residence, we arrived on the scene at 2:00 A.M. on 20th  September 1920. We found Arthur’s body lying on the end of the stairs, on his back, face-up his legs are on the stairs. Queenie stood beside Arthur’s dead body. Queenie mentioned that Arthur slipped on the stairs and fell when he wanted to take another drink, she also mentioned that the paramedics said that the wound on Arthur’s head is his cause of death.

After conducting a further investigation, it seems like what Queenie said did not support the evidence. The first evidence that what Queenie said isn’t true is that when someone trips on the stairs, they will usually try to reach out and grab the nearest thing that they can hold to. But when we focus on the wall, the displays aren’t even misplaced. In fact, they’re still neatly hanged.

Second, when someone who is holding something fragile trips or falls from the stairs, they will try to let go of the object to grab hold onto something. But the glass was still tightly held in Arthur’s hand, and it’s still whole. While when someone is holding something fragile trips or falls, the fragile object usually break.

When someone trips or falls on a carpet-covered stairs, the carpet are usually messed up, but the carpet on the stairs were not messed up and it’s still neat. There are no paramedics present, according to what Queenie had said, she had contacted the paramedics and the paramedics had came over and states Arthur’s cause of death. But there are no paramedics present. Arthur is lying on his back, face up with his legs on the stairs.

When someone falls down from the stairs, their face and body will be facing the ground. Queenie had also informed that while she was going out to the party, Arthur stayed home. Yet, Arthur is wearing a formal attire underneath his robe. Usually, when someone stayed home they wouldn’t be wearing formal attires. And when we arrive, the stove is still on while it is around 1 A.M. Usually, people cook meals at a reasonable time. 

Based on our investigations and evidences, we can conclude that Arthur didn’t die because he fell from the stairs. We speculate that Arthur was indeed drunk, and Queenie did went ten minutes before her friends did. But she didn’t found him dead. Earlier, they had an argument, and Arthur was drunk that hour, so he can’t control his actions and words. He upsets Queenie, which caused Queenie to hit him repeatedly with a frying pan, which caused the terrible wound on Arthur’s head. She dragged Arthur’s dead body so it seems like he According to the evidences we got, we can conclude that Queenie should be tried so that we can know whether Queenie lied or not.
